Did You Miss Me? Chapter 6 : Cliches are for Stories

A/N : Not edited. More than likely contains typos! I can't come with a title chapter. :( Anyways, comment and like, send a friend request.
Should I answer the phone? What would I say, or what would she say? One things for sure, I don't want her to know where I'm at.
I don't know what possessed me to answer the phone, but I do.
"Hello?"
"Lilliana! When the hell are you coming back? Its been two days already! Just come back." Her voice started strong but became softer. "Where are you? I can come pick you up."
Wow. She's mad... at me. At least she still thinks I'm in the same state. That's good.
"How dare you! How dare you be angry at me! You have absolutely no right to be even a little bit pissed at me. I should be the one pissed off!"
"Lil-"
"NO!" I cut her off. Don't say anything. I don't want to..." I trail off knowing the next word out of my mouth would come out a cracked sound. Tears start to cloud my vision. I think of what happened. I don't want to think about it though.
"Baby Cakes, I'm so sorry, I-"
"No!" It same out cracked. "I don't want an apology. That won't do anything for you or for me. Don't call again either."
One single tear escapes my eye but I wipe it before it can roll past my cheekbone. I brush my eyes to keep the other tears forming from doing the same. "You know, as a mother, you're supposed to protect your little girl."
I press the 'End Call' button and throw the phone on my bed. Walking to the bear wall, I bang my head against it and groan.
The hear a tap at my window that makes me jump. Behind the glass is a blonde with big brown eyes.
I rush to my window and open it, letting Ian climb in.
"Hey." He whispers.
I sigh. "How much of that did you hear?"
He gives me a flat smile. "I'm pretty sure all of it. I don't understand anything though. Want to talk about it?"
I shake my head. I don't even want to think about it.
He nods "Okay. You'll tell me when you're ready."
"Thanks." I whisper.
He walks over to be bed and falls onto it letting his dangle at the foot. I sit Indian style on the floor where his head dangles.
"This room is so bare."
"Yeah." I respond.
"I miss sneaking in each others rooms. Although you and Adam's houses were the only two we sneaked into because your rooms were on the ground floor. I was always freaked that we'd get caught."
"We did one time! Remember?"
"Of coarse I do! Adam's mom was so mad! She was really scary." He chuckled.
"She was though! She freaked me out. I always felt like she was planning to murder me or something." I chuckle also.
"She was like that with almost everyone." He agrees.
"Did Adam really turn into an ass?"
"Sadly, yes. He kind of has."
"Do you think we'll all be friends again." I blurt out while turning to face him. His face is sad.
"I don't know Lily."
"I know what happened between you and David. Carter told me."
He raises his eyebrows. "What did he tell you?""You dated a girl named Rachel and she's now with David. Supposedly, they were cheating behind your back." I pause and watch as he closes his eyes, and takes a deep breath. "He didn't actually do that, did he?" I ask.
Ian takes another breath and quietly says "I kinda don't want to talk about it."+
Oh my god. David actually did that. "Yeah. Sorry for prying."
He gave a flat smile, shaking his head. "It's okay."
To change the subject I ask, "So how are your parents?"
"Fine."
"How about Callum? " The answer to this question is one I'm genuinely interested in.
Ian opened his eyes, narrowed them at me and wiggled his eyebrows. "Hm. Wouldn't you like to know?"
I cracked a grin because, yeah, I really would like to know. Callum is Ian's older brother by three years. When I was growing up I had the hugest crush on him. I was pretty convinced he was like my soul mate. Callum never gave me attention though. It killed me when I was little but looking back I understand. I mean, I was a twelve, he was fifteen, I wasn't even pretty. I was just his little brothers chubby friend, and he was... gorgeous. I'm a hundred percent sure that Callum passes up Adam in the look department.
"Callums at home still. He was at college for a a year and a half before he came back. He is now working as cook at some diner."
"At least he has a job. Are you two close?"
He gave a genuine warm smile. "Yeah. We are."
"Good. Then you can out in a good word for me." He laughed out loud.
We continue to talk about random things within the next hour.
Ian caught me yawning, so he decided to leave so I could get some sleep.
I didn't realize how tired I was until my head hit the pillow.

I feel a hand on my shoulder. I spin around to see Adam smirking at me.
"Sup?" he says.
I turn back to my locker to finish exchanging my books. "Hey Adam." I reply.
"Care to join me for lunch?"
I don't really know how to act around him. Should I be mad at him, or ignore him because of who he's become? I turn back to him.
"Yeah I guess. We need to talk."
He made a sour face. "The dreaded four words. Nothing ever good happens when those four words leave a chicks mouth."
"Did you just refer to girls as chicks?"
"Uh yeah." He says the same some 'duh'.
"Who the hell even uses that word anymore?" I say, really trying to think whens the last time I heard a guy call a girl a chick.
"A lot of people use it." He says defensively
I give up and nod. "Right."
"Well, anyway, my friends are in the cafeteria so we should go."
"Not if Kyle is one of those friends."
"Ugggghhh." He say dramatically, while tipping his head back to look at the ceiling. "Kyle isn't that bad." His smirk is still there but wanes slightly.
"Ha. Kyle is an ass, that I know. I just have trouble believing you're one too."
"Well then." His eyes connect with mine. "Who told you I was an ass?"
"That's not the point!"
"What's the point then?"
"Tell me everyone's wrong about you. Tell you you're not a jerk, and that you don't use girls."
It's now that his smirk has completely disappeared.
"I guess if I tell you that, I'd be lying."
I turn to slam my locker shut.
"I'm not really hungry." I say loudly.
I can't believe Adam. I walk to the library, where I spent my lunch period the previous day.
The rest of the day had nothing interesting. In drama, Ian and David were both tense when I tried to address them both at the same time or make them acknowledge each other.
When the day ended, I walked to my car and found Carter waiting there. I unlocked the car and climbed inside, knowing that Carter was probably climbing into the passenger side. When we were both inside silence filled the car. I rested my head on his shoulder and enjoyed this type of silence. The peaceful silence with no trace of awkward-ness.
Then I say my thoughts aloud. "Adam has to have a reason for being this way. All the bad boy players have a reason for becoming one."
"I guess, but that's usually just in the stories."
I look in his pretty hazel eyes. "Isn't life a story we write for ourselves."
"Whose to say we write it?" He asks
"I don't know. I try not to think deep. It hurts my brain." I explain. Carter laughs, making me shiver. I'm pretty sure I mentioned this before but, I love his laugh.
The week goes by with the somewhat same routine. Wake up, go to school, go home with Carter along. I ignore Adam and started to ignore David and Ian in drama class. As for Carter, we hang after school and spend our lunch period in the library together. Grams was ecstatic to have 'one of her boys back'. Carter was also very happy reunite with Grams.
When Friday came, Carter and I had decided we should spend the night watching teenage 80's films because Teenage 80's films rule. We went through The Breakfast Club, and I was about to put on Ferris Bueller's Day Off when the doorbell rings.
I yell at Carter to make more popcorn before heading to the door. When I pull it open, I'm surprised at who stands there.+
