It's him. It's Kyle. He's gotten muscular, but has the samedark eyes and dark hair. He's still really intimidating, which suits him because he was, and I guess still is, a big bully.
His eyes scan my body from head to toe. "Excuse me?" His tone and expression are more annoyed. Then his eyebrows raise, and a smirk takes over his scowl, making me realize I’m gawking at him."Like what you see, sweetheart?" Gag. He must not recognize me."You don't know who I am?" "Should I?" The smirk still on his face. "Yeah." I point at myself and glare at him. "You know me as Lil Chubster." He would always have a comment on how chubby I was.His eyes widen and his mouth drops. His demeanor quickly changes back to his composed smirk."Damn girl! What the hell happened to you?" His eyes rape my body even more, making me feel even more uncomfortable.Ignoring his comment, I turn to the boy in the over-sized hoodie to see if he's okay. When I look at him, I find myself staring at...Carter?His hazel eyes are wide and his mouth is open. He looks...really hot. His brown hair is sticking in different directions, but it looks good. Kinda like the way I like my hair, beautifully chaotic. His really defined chin has stubble on it."Hey," he says, a bright smile on his face."Hey." A smile is blossoming on my face too. He takes a step forward and I realize that my Carter is still not taller than me, but only by a few inches. I kinda like this.Of course, the reunion moment is ruined by Kyle. "I guess you're gonna need a new nickname, right? How about..." His eyes go to my chest, "Big Titty Lily?"I give him an incredulous look. Is he serious? That isn't even good or clever in the slightest bit. Wait, is he trying to insult me or is that a stupid way of trying to give a compliment? I'll treat it as an insult.I focus back on Kyle and say, "That's two apologies," while holding two fingers up,"One for Carter, and now one for me." "Sweetie, that was a compliment. And as for shortie there, I don't say sorry to no one. Especially to freaks like him."Ugh, this guy. My hands ball up into fists. "You're still a real pain in the ass, you know that?"He smirks. "As long as it's in your ass, baby."My mind races as I walk towards him. I want to punch him. If I do then I will most likely hurt my hand, right. That always happens in movies. Girl punches guy, then she ends up with a broken hand and the guy gets a bruise. I'll have to settle for a really hard slap instead. Kyle's face swings to the side with the sound of my palm smacking against his cheek. My hand stings a little but not enough to really hurt. I am satisfied. Kyle's hand goes to his cheek while he shouts, "What the hell!?"Suddenly a new voice says, "Damn, she bitch-slapped the hell out of you."Before I can even look to see who said that, a loud and authorative voice yells, "What is going on? Shouldn't all of you be in class?" I look around to see the good-sized crowd attracted start to disperse. The man with the authorative voice is dressed in a suit and tie. "You three!" he says, looking in my direction. "My office. Now!""WHAT! Mr Mathers! I just walked into this situation. I didn't do anything!" The guy whose voice I recognize as the one who said I bitch-slapped Kyle. I turn to him and ... wow. Today has been a hell of a day for reunions, hasn't it? Adam is standing right in front of me. He is amazingly gorgeous, which doesn't really surprise. He was always good-looking. The thing here that surprises me is his body. This boy got muscles. His black hair is styled in an Edward Cullen type of shit, and his beautiful blue crystal eyes still haven't seen me yet.Adam turns to Kyle and says, "See this. I'm in trouble again because of you."Authoritative voice or Mr Mathers starts to turn in the direction I guess I’m supposed to follow but stops when Carter speaks up quietly."Sir, Kyle started it. Lily was just sticking up for me.""Oh, I'm sure Mr Manuel started it." Then he turns his attention from Carter to me. "But violence is not tolerated here, Miss...""Uh... Hayes...Lilliana Hayes." My eyes slide to Adam when I say it and his head snaps to my face. His eyes widen. I give him a small smile."You are the new student, aren't you?"I nod and look down at the floor."Yeah."Mr Mathers sighs. "This is not a good place to start, Miss Hayes. However, because it's your first day, I will let you off with a warning. Don't expect any more in the future." He waves his pointer finger at me.I nod. "Won't happen again sir." He then turns to Adam. "You. No profanity." Then to Kyle he says, "Office!"Kyle stalks off angrily after Mr Mathers, leaving me with Adam and Carter.I look from one to the other and notice they are both staring at me."If you take a picture, it'll last longer."Adam says, "HA, HA!" sarcastically while coming towards me and pulls me into a hug. I glance over at Carter to see him standing awkwardly."I missed you, Lil," Adam says into my ear, "You look... not like the Lily I know." He’s pulled away to glance down at me with a warm smile. He is really tall now! Almost like 6'2 or 6'1."I'm the same Lily." I assure him. "You... look just as I thought you would." He smirks. "Like a handsome devil? Psh! I know."I shake my head. Same old conceited Adam. The bell rings, signalling passing period is over and class is starting."What class do you have right now?" Adam asks, still smirking.I pull out the folded piece of paper from my pocket and check it before saying,"Trigonometry" with a scrunched nose. I hate math.Adam's smirk wavers slightly. "Oh. I have English. I would walk you but if a teacher catches me, they’re gonna think I'm trying to ditch again.""It's oka-“"I can walk her." We both snap our heads to Carter. He was so quiet that I forgot he was there.I turn to Adam, who is staring at Carter with shock written on his face. I don't know why though.Adam turns and nods, starting to walk down the hall. "Later!" he calls behind his shoulder."Yeah... later." I turn to Carter and open my arms. "Mama Lily didn't get a hug from you!" I say with a fake pout on my face.Carter chuckles and we hug. We are still in our embrace when Carter says, "Man, you're still taller than me."This time I chuckle. "It's only like a half an inch." That's a lie. It's really more like two inches. Carter is first to pull away. "C'mon, we’re already late.""You don't have to walk me. I don't want you to get in trouble or anything.""It's okay, and I won't get in trouble. What's the room number?"I checked and say, "218." He nods and we start walking in the direction he is facing."So. You're here," he says."Yep. Staying with Grams.""That's great." I look at his face which contains a bright smile."Yeah. Except...my four best friends aren't friends with each other."The bright smile leaves his face and his eyes go to the floor. "Yeah...um. I don't know what to say." "How about you tell me exactly how this happened. David tried explaining but I'm still confused.""You seen David?" He's trying to change the subject."Not the point, Carter." He sighs and I realize we have stopped walking."This is your class. Find me after school and we'll talk." He turns and leaves me. I go into the classroom.***Trig went good. Besides the fact that I had no idea what we were learning and the teacher lectured me on being late only to apologize, claiming she didn't know I was new. Honestly, I understand high school teachers have like a hundred students, but shouldn't they be able to tell who's new and who's not.I go to my final class, drama. David's in this class. When I walk in the room, I look around for him. He's not in here yet.I try to pull away from the hug but Carter doesn't let go. "You're gonna have to let go some time." Carter immediately drops his arms. "Uh, sorry. I just really missed you.""Well in that case..." I pull him into another hug except this one is more of a bear hug.He laughs. I like his laugh. I make my way to a seat but before I get there, I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and see a boy with blonde hair and warm brown eyes staring at me. "Ian?" I say. Damn. What is it with all these guys getting hot? Seriously, though. With a big smile on his face, he throws his arms around me and twirls me around. He does so effortlessly, making me realize that he’s ripped. When he puts me down, I return his smile."I heard you were here," he says."Yeah? Who told you?""David."I raise an eyebrow. "I thought you guys don't talk to each other?"His smile falters."Uh, yeah. We talk.""Really?"The smile leaves altogether. "Just a little. I seen him in my lunch period, when he told me.""Oh." He takes my hand in his and leads us to the desks in the back. We take a seat next to each other. I glance at the door when a stream of people come in but there is still no David."So, do you want to tell me wh-" I was gonna ask him about the whole 'not friends thing' but he cuts me off."You look beautiful."My breath catches at his words. That was unexpected, yet it’s something I should expect from Ian. He's told me that before. He was always the one saying the sweetest and nicest things. "Thanks Ian. I think you're the only person who tells me that.""That's messed up. You should have every man alive saying that to you."I chuckle. "Well what about you, huh?""What about me?"I lean to him and squeezed his bicep. "When the hell did you get these?"He laughs. "Yeah, well, after freshman year, I bulked up quickly.""That's cool."I see Ian's gaze flicker to the door, where I see David come in. David looks from me to Ian and tenses up. Then comes to take the desk next to me."Hey," he says."Why didn't you tell me Ian was also in this class?"David gives me an empty look and a shrug. "Forgot."Not like David at all.The bell rings and I choose to ignore David's response and the fact that they didn't acknowledge each other.During the class, our teacher, Ms Hand, makes us act like furniture (I don't know, so don't even ask). Then she gives us all different monologues that she wants us to learn.David helps me memorize my monologue, but I notice he keeps glancing between the clock and Ian who’s talking to one of his friends who is even more muscled than him.Ian interrupts David and I to introduce muscled guy, whose name is Chad. When he shamelessly flirts with me, I see Ian roll his eyes, and David shake his head, so I shake Chad off. When the bell rings, David shoots out of his seat and gathers his things, while saying, "Later Lily."He starts to power walk to the door when I say, "Forgetting someone?"David stiffens and turns. "Sorry. See you later... Ian."Ian gives his sweet smile but is stiff himself."Bye," he says.Okay, I need a plan. But first things first. Find out what exactly happened from Carter.
